A short-term (10 months) postdoctoral position is available in my laboratory at the University of Helsinki. You will continue our work on understanding the structure and effect of cancer-causing mutations in RET by combining cryoEM with molecular dynamics (J Biol Chem 2022; 298: 102380). The work is in collaboration with the Sharma group. Your role will be to expand our work to the effect of new mutations on the signalling complex. You will use both the Fc-fusions we pioneered in Liu et al, as well as working on the full-length protein. All of the proteins have been expressed and purified. You will be supported by the dedicated technical support staff in the group.
The Goldman laboratory has dedicated space in the Viikki Biosciences campus for all aspects of protein chemistry, and access to the upgraded Talos Artica microscope on campus, as well as to Titan Krios at SciLifeLab and the University of Leeds. We are a growing, diverse group with a focus on integral membrane proteins. We are looking for someone with expertise in membrane proteins and/or structural biology – for preference cryoelectron microscopy. The position has a tax-free stipend of €2800. The preferred start date is September 1st, and I will happily support you in applying for continuation funding from the Academy of Finland, the EU (Marie Curie postdoctoral position) and others.
To apply, please send me a c.v. and the names of two references by August 7th. If you have questions, please email ([email protected]) and/or phone me (+358 50 448 6378).
