Welcome to the Goldman Group.

We study different integral- and membrane-associated proteins. Our goal is to understand their structure and mechanism of action. Our primary techniques include cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, transport and other functional assays. We also dabble (via collaborators) with FRET, PELDOR and electrometric measurements, as well as cell-based assays.

I am a professor at the University of Helsinki in Finland and a visiting professor at the University of Leeds in England (since 2021). I am a visiting member of the Astbury Centre for Structural Biology at the University of Leeds. I also hold a Lecture Professorship at Nankai University in Tianjin, China.

We are funded by the European Union (DN StraDiVarious),
by the Academy of Finland and by Syöpäsäätiö (the Finnish Cancer Foundation).
I have also had funding from the BBSRC, the Wellcome Trust, Sigrid Juselius Säätiö
and, in a galaxy long ago and far away, the NIH.
